A Portrait of Quiet Influence

Issue 5 marks a moment of evolution for Community Icons.

A new look. A renewed sense of presence. A quiet refinement of how we show up in the world.

Keeping in mind that this is not what defines us.

What defines Community Icons has never been design, format, or visibility. It is the people.

Those who move with intention.

Those who lead without seeking recognition.

Those whose quiet passion shapes the very fabric of our communities.

With this issue, we have the honor of sharing the story of Oscar De Las Salas—

a reflection of purpose, of belonging, and of the kind of impact that does not ask to be seen, yet is deeply felt.

This work is only possible because of those who believe in it.

To ALMA Healthcare, our Founding Supporter, and to the Hugh & Barbara Lytle Foundation, whose generosity and trust continue to guide us—thank you.

It is through organizations like yours that we preserve the stories of those who might otherwise go unnoticed.

The builders. The advocates. The quiet forces behind meaningful change.

Community Icons exists to create permanence for their stories. To honor them not for the spotlight they receive, but for the lives they impact.

And as we step into this next chapter, we do so with the same intention we began with:

To seek truth.

To elevate legacy.

To celebrate those who remind us that influence is not measured by visibility, but by impact.

This is who we are.

And this is only the beginning.
